Blue Mountains World Heritage Area and Ausgrid Sustainable Energy

This full day tour will take delegates from the heart of the city to the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area to see first hand the land use challenges facing communities living in the interface with an internationally recognised national park. On the way delegates will visit the Ausgrid Environmental Education Centre - Sydney's latest 6-star rated green building - and see their innovations making this a unique building achieving sustainability targets with the aid of a trigeneration plant, extensive solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations.

This study tour will showcase the results of Sydney's most successful urban renewal effort on the city's doorstep.

Experience the light rail service created on a former goods line and find out how an industrial area in decline was turned into a vibrant mixed-use harbourside community.

Sydney Olympic Park and River Cruise to Sydney Harbour

A tour of Sydney Olympic Park and surrounding areas will be followed by a cruise along the river into Sydney Harbour.

The cruise will also highlight the major urban renewal project at Rhodes and another development at Wentworth Point.

The Rocks and Barangaroo

The Rocks and Barangaroo

The Rocks was the home of Sydney's first convict settlement and contains the city's oldest buildings.

This study tour is an opportunity to learn about Sydney's heritage and how its buildings survived threats of redevelopment to become a thriving centre of tourism, culture and entertainment.

The tour will also include an analysis of the Barangaroo site, a former container terminal which is slated for new open space and commercial development. The waterfront development is expected to deliver world class benchmarks in urban design, public space and sustainability.

Sustainable Building Walking Tour

Sustainable Building Walking Tour

Join sustainability leaders, the Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) and Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), for a two-hour walking tour of Sydney's most sustainable office properties. On this guided tour you will explore seven of the city's most innovative Green Star certified, BBP member buildings.

The BBP is a collaboration between leading property owners and the property industry to provide green leadership and sustainable innovation for Sydney's commercial and public buildings.

The GBCA was established in 2002 to develop a sustainable property industry in Australia and drive the adoption of green building practices through market-based solutions.
